eBay Charming collection of vintage Fontanini 12” scale nativity characters. Hand painted composition type material, after the switch from papier-mâché, dating these to around the mid-20th Century. First offering as a set but after sufficient time and reasonable offers to for individual pieces, I may be willing to break up the collection. Conditon: One of the wise men has suffered a crack. The piece can be glued back together with little noticeable difference or you can take it to a repair person that will glue it back together and paint it to look as new. Leaving this one as-is for the buyer to decide. The ass has also suffered some damage. Apparently the head came off at one point and has been glued back on, with a piece missing out of one side. It’s the back side so it’s not very noticeable when displayed. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Large 12" Fontanini Simonetti 1983 19 Pc Nativity Manger Set Donkey Mary Jesus!Note: Please see my other Fontanini nativity listings I will be doing, and also a large size wooden creche stable for 7.5 inch scale at least..This large 12 inch scale Fontanini Simonetti nativity scene is an ultra rare find for collectors to include this many pieces all together. Please note I'm including two expensive Persian tapestry materials as well to use as a ground covering and Middle Eastern backdrop to complement and display beautifully the ancient figures.. They each measure about 49 inches long by 28 inches deep and they are both double sided with the red weaving on one side and the geometric gold thread design on the other. They look very much like materials and fancy linen from Jesus' day. Including the two tapestries, there are 19 pieces total. Most of the big figures and animals have also a Fontanini gold sticker on the bottom. Most of the figures are signed both by Fontanini and Simonetti and all have dates of 1983 of those that display dates. The large animals are 10 inches in length and the kneeling Mary and Joseph are 9 inches and 9.5 inches in height respectively. All the standing figure are averaging 12 inches. They are all in Very good vintage condition overall with no chips or breaks with some slight soiling in crevice areas. Joseph's staff was missing so I put in a wooden walking stick that fits his hand and can be trimmed down to desired height. Baby Jesus' crib is a slightly smaller size but baby Jesus fits and looks well enough in it. It will be securely packed and bubble wrapped when shipped. The person from whom I bought this lovely set wrote on the top of the lid the name of the store where she bought the ornaments as well as the year she bought them. So here’s a little history for you. You'll get the ornaments and the box.For those of you who collect vintage Fontanini, this is a very rare find/treat. These are large ornament with angels or jesters sitting on globes. The globes and figurines seem to be made out of some hard plastic. These are not light-weight ornaments. Each ornament features a different angel or jester. All are hand-painted. Each ornament is marked “depose “Italy”, along with the spider mark, and the item number. Crimson globes are represented the most, there are four ornaments in this color,. Two blue ornaments, one green ornament, i yellow ornament. Christmas ornaments have a tiny loop in the back of the angels and clowns where you can attach a ribbon or tiny hook for hanging.SIZE varies from: 3 1/2 inches to 4 3/8 inches.Some of the globes have age-related wear; the angels and jesters are in excellent condition.This set is in very good condition. It's rare, very rare.I am considering selling each ornament separately. The price would range from $95 to $125 each, depending on size and condition. Only shipped to the Lower 48.
